Position Overview:
Mildred ISD is seeking a dedicated and student-focused Agricultural Science Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide engaging instruction in agricultural science courses while supporting the district’s FFA program and fostering leadership, career readiness, and hands-on learning opportunities for students.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Deliver high-quality instruction in assigned agricultural science courses aligned to TEKS
• Develop and implement lesson plans that incorporate classroom, laboratory, and experiential learning
• Serve as an advisor for the FFA chapter, including supervision of student projects and participation in shows, competitions, and events
• Maintain and manage agricultural facilities, equipment, and resources
• Integrate industry-based certifications and career pathways into instruction when applicable
• Monitor student progress and provide timely feedback to students and parents
• Collaborate with staff, administration, and community stakeholders to support student success
• Participate in campus and district professional development and activities

Requirements
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
• Valid Texas teaching certificate in Agricultural Science (or ability to obtain)
• Knowledge of agricultural science curriculum and FFA programs
• Strong classroom management and organizational skills
• Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and community members
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience teaching agricultural science at the secondary level
• Experience with FFA leadership and competition coaching
• Background in livestock, mechanics, welding, horticulture, or related fields
