Grievance Policy & Communication Process
At Mildred ISD, we are committed to maintaining open communication and resolving concerns quickly and effectively. We want to ensure that parents and community members have access to a clear process for voicing concerns.
Our policy encourages individuals to first seek resolution at the lowest level possible. This ensures concerns are addressed by those most directly involved and allows for the fastest, most accurate response.
Where to Begin
Classroom Concerns
If your concern involves classroom instruction, student performance, or a teacher’s decision, please contact the teacher first.
Campus Concerns
If your concern involves campus operations, discipline, or a matter that could not be resolved with a teacher, please contact the campus principal or assistant principal.
District-Level Concerns
If your concern involves district-wide programs (ie. athletics), policies, or operations, please reach out to the appropriate director.
Why Start at the Lowest Level?
• It allows problems to be resolved quickly and directly.
• It promotes collaboration and trust between families and staff.
• It ensures accurate information is shared without delay or miscommunication.

Formal Grievance Process
If a concern cannot be resolved informally, the district’s formal grievance policy outlines the steps for filing a written grievance. This process ensures that every concern is documented, reviewed, and addressed according to state law and district policy. Please keep in mind that this process can take substantially more time to work through. It is generally better to exhaust informal remedies first.
To file a formal grievance please choose the appropriate form (all complaints begin at level 1):
