Mildred ISD’s CATE Mission Statement
Mission:
The mission of Mildred ISD’s Career and Technical Program is to allow students to obtain the knowledge, skills, character, and essential work habits/attitudes necessary to become productive and responsible citizens.
Vision:
Instruction will be focused on preparing students for initial employment, technical school, and/or college-level coursework.
Goal:
1. Provide students with computer skills necessary for success in today’s technological society.
a. Continue to offer students the opportunity to obtain industry certifications through various CATE courses.
b. Collaborate with core curriculum teachers to develop projects that reinforce computer skills related to word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software.
c. Develop partnerships with business/industry to provide students with real-world models or experience.
2. Maintain/increase student enrollment in CATE courses.
a. Continue to offer a variety of CATE courses from TEA’s sixteen clusters which provide students with Tech Prep and/or Dual Credit through Navarro College.
b. Promote CATE courses.
3. Develop productive work habits/attitudes.
a. Stress punctuality.
b. Emphasize the necessity of meeting deadlines.
c. Develop time management skills.
d. CATE teachers should serve as facilitators in the development of student knowledge.
